Every year for Christmas I long to be surprised. Sure I love the practical gifts as much as anyone. I really do enjoy receiving razors and underwear and shampoo from my mom. Adulthood does that to you. Those items are expensive!! So anytime I don’t have to buy them, it really is a gift. But I long to receive something out of the ordinary. Something that shows that the gift giver really knows who I am and what I like. If you haven’t figured it out yet, I love moments. I’m all about savoring the little moments and reliving memories. So pictures are the perfect gift for me. I love to have pictures of my friends and family surrounding me. Below are 4 Photo Gift Ideas for Christmas!

Photo Gift Ideas

1. Ornaments

I love ornaments! This is my favorite thing to pull out every Christmas. Each ornament is special, and I love picking each one out and remembering who gave it to me, the year I got it, and what it means. Once my tree is decorated, it’s like a tree full of memories. And I love that! So why not make or buy a special photo ornament for those grandparents, parents, or even close friends on your list! It can be a photo of you guys together, a place you visited, or something else that you know they will love. There are some great tutorials on pinterest, here is my favorite ornament that I’ve seen. I did a rustic tree this year and I’m planning on making on for my tree to commemorate this year. You can also make ornaments through Shutterfly, they come out super cute.

2. Framed Photo or Photo Holder with Prints

Maybe you want to give a gift that they can enjoy all year long. Why not gift them a print. Find a beautiful frame or if you know they would rather frame it themselves, pick some matting, print out a picture, wrap it and gift it to them. Again, this could be a picture of your little ones, a time you spent together, or something else that you know would be meaningful to them and that they would want to look at throughout the year. Amazon has some beautiful picture frames, although I always like to shop Homegoods and Marshalls for their killer prices!

3. Wallet Prints

Not everyone keeps prints in their wallet anymore, but I think that’s partly because we aren’t gifted wallet prints very often. So maybe get some wallet prints made up and gift those. I think this would be especially good for the grandparents. They love to have photos at a moments notice to show off!

4. Scrapbook or other book

I love making scrapbooks. If you have some extra time on your hands this holiday season and you want to give a really meaningful gift, think about giving a scrapbook. Maybe you went on a special family trip or that night out with the girls, maybe a friend got married or engaged, scrapbooks are a really great way to commemorate special occasions and to tell a story. They don’t have to be expensive or super detailed. Just print some pictures out and paste them in a book. You can buy supplies on Amazon. Or if you don’t feel like doing it all by hand, you can make a book through Shutterfly. And even still, if you don’t want to go through the time to map out photos (although Shutterfly can do that for you), you can always use a service like Chatbooks. You can print out Instagram photos, or photos from your phone, and do everything right from your phone. Their books are really beautiful too.

5. Calendar

This is my absolutely favorite gift to give. They really are so simple to make through Shutterfly and everyone always loves them. I gift these to my parents, husbands parents and grandparents, every year for Christmas. Actually this year, I was contemplating not giving them, and my parents both practically bit my head off because these calendars are their favorite gifts! If your worried that they might get a calendar already or that someone else in your family might gift them a personalized calendar don’t worry! One this isn’t a regular calendar and they will love it and two I know people who get multiple and display multiple every year. These calendars really are the perfect gift for people to keep track of birthdays and events and have beautiful pictures on display all year long! Shutterfly is also always having sales, so you can get a discount on gifts!
