It’s Christmas time! The day after Thanksgiving officially starts the beginning of the Christmas season in my house. We always put up our Christmas tree and start decorating the house the weekend after Thanksgiving. Part of this is because Christmas is a very busy season for us and we’re not really home during the weekends, so this way we are able to fully enjoy the Christmas season whenever we are home. And the other part of this is just because I love Christmas! I love the faint glow of the tree every night and cozying up on the couch with a roaring firing.
The best part of the season is definitely getting to spend it with my family and friends; there are so many traditions from elf on the shelf to cookie baking to light looking, spending Christmas Eve at my parents, and then waking up early to open presents and see the firemen drive Santa down the street. Certain things change from year to year, but I look forward to every one of our little traditions.
One of my favorite traditions is decorating the tree. Since we’ve been married, every year my husband and I decorate the tree together. Each ornament on our tree means something to us, a lot of them we have made ourselves the first year we were married and had very little to put on our tree, some have been passed down from my tree when I was younger, and then every year we get a new ornament for the tree that reflects something about the past year in our lives. Decorating the tree is probably one of the things I’m most excited to share with our children some day. It’s so fun to look at all the ornaments and remember all the fun things we have done in the years passed.
Last year, I decided to share a bunch of those ornaments on my Instagram. This was something just for fun because I wanted to take pictures of my ornaments, and share them with the world (or my little corner of the internet). I thought about resharing them all on Instagram this year, but I decided instead to do a round up blog post. So below you will find my 25 days of Christmas, ornaments edition.
Christmas Ornaments
There’s the recap from last years 25 days of Christmas ornaments. One day I hope to have just a snowman tree (hence the many snowman ornaments that I have), and one day there will be a tree in every room of the house! Again, I told you I really love Christmas. What is your favorite thing about Christmas? I’d love to hear in the comments or on my Facebook page.
