Stocking Up Before Baby

Sharing is caring!

Stocking Up Before Baby Comes

Since this is my first baby, I didn’t really know what to expect after we brought baby home. I normally am pretty bad at having to go run errands anyway, so I knew I wasn’t going to want to go run around town for things with a newborn. That’s why I tried to stock up on things that I thought would be a problem if we ran out of them! These are the things I stocked up on that came in really handy during those first few weeks and months.

Stocking Up Before Baby

1. Toilet Paper and Paper Towels

We have a Costco membership and we made a special trip about 3 weeks before baby was due in order to get toilet paper and paper towels. I wanted to make sure that we wouldn’t run out within the first month or so, because I didn’t want to have to make another Costco trip.

2. Laundry Soap

I knew there was going to be a lot of laundry to do once baby arrived, but I didn’t know exactly how much! I was thankful to have extra laundry soap on hand so that we didn’t run out and that I could make sure baby (and myself and my husband) had clean clothes!

3. Diapers and Wipes

Thankfully we got a bunch of diapers and wipes so we didn’t have to go out and buy any immediately. But I kept a good inventory list of what we had so that I could get more before we ran out.

4. Freezer Meals

Again, we went to Costco and had bought things we could put in the freezer. Like Bagel Bites, taquitos, and raviolis. I also made Lasagna, meatballs, meatloaf, casseroles, and soup. Just stuff that we could easily throw in the oven or microwave and have something to eat. This was great because the last thing we wanted to do was meal prep every night.

5. Purell

As a first time mom, I loved having Purell around. It made me feel so much more comfortable to have people put Purell on before touching baby. I know this isn’t necessary, but it did ease my mind!

These are the things that I stocked up on and helped me! What did you stock up on?
