Nursery Reveal

Sharing is caring!

Nursery Reveal- Travel and Hot Air Balloon Nursery

I’m so excited to share the nursery reveal with you! I was anxious to get the nursery done. Baby isn’t even going to sleep in it for the first few weeks at least, he’ll be in our room. But I still was super anxious about completing it, because I wanted it to look perfect! I have a lifestyle photo shoot planned for after he arrives, and I want to take pictures in the nursery. My mom came up one day and helped hubs and I decide where everything should go. I’m sort of a perfectionist and I have to admit I was a little anal about the placement of some of the items. We probably moved the wall art around 10 times before I was happy with the placement!

But now I am super happy with the room! It is so adorable and I think it screams the hot air balloon/travel theme I was going for. I can’t wait to hold little one in here and watch him grow and play with all the toys.

Nursery Reveal

Travel Nursery Reveal, blue and grey

This chair I already had, it was actually blue at one point and I used it as a prop and then it sat in my house. We spray painted it grey and I think it looks really cute in the corner of the room. I found the bookshelf at Target. I love that it has an open back and that the top is tiered. It looks really great under the window. The wire baskets at the bottom are also from Target. I just turned them around so that you couldn’t see the number. Eventually I want to make little chalkboard labels for the front, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. The baskets hold toys, there’s still room for more, but I’m sure I’ll need more toy storage as he grows. The star cutout lampshade is from Pottery Barn. I saw it in their catalog and fell in love with it! It doesn’t block light from coming through either and I think it looks so awesome when on.

Hot air balloon nursery

I love the crib we picked. It has a storage shelf on the bottom. I also love the hot air balloon blankets. The red sign in the middle a family member made for baby. It says his name on it and it’s the perfect centerpiece for the wall. My mom and I painted the hot air balloons that are on the wall. They are made of metal and super light. I had some small stuffed animals laying around and we put them in the baskets so it looks like they are flying. I also love the “Oh the Places You’ll Go” canvas. That book was the original inspiration for the nursery. I’ve always loved that book and I want little one to know that there is no limit to the things that he can accomplish.

dresser in nursery being used as a changing table

This dresser was my Nana’s and I have the whole set. I knew I wanted it in the nursery. I was a little worried it wouldn’t fit, because this room is very small, but I think it fits great! I love that it will be the changing table and that baby will be able to look at himself in the mirror.

My mom found this diaper basket at Marshall’s and it fits perfectly on the edge of the dresser.

Hot air balloon nursery with hot air ballon picture on wall, toddler jerseys hanging, and a sheer curtain for a closet door

I hate closet doors with a passion. You know the ones that slide and cover half the closet. I have no idea why everyone thinks those are so great. We took the ones off in our bedroom the weekend we moved in, and I made my husband take the ones off in this room once we started seriously decorating it. I took a tension rod and placed it at the top. I love the sheer curtain because you can still see what is inside but you don’t see the mess.

The hot air balloon picture on the wall is the one I redid and I think it looks really great in the room. I love that I’ll be able to change out the wording as he gets older. The basket on the little night stand holds some things that we will need frequently, like swaddles, some burp clothes, and binkies. I have all the rest stored away, but this way we will have some out always. One of hubs coworkers put the letters on the front; I love that it matches the room so well!

Nursery Closet Organization with clothes hanging and shelves for storage

Inside the closet we have some more shelving from Target. I also found the blue and white stripped baskets at Target. They hold some bigger clothes, swaddles, and socks, and hats. There’s lots of room to add more things, and I love that it looks so cute and organized in there. The clothes are all organized by using the closet dividers that I made. It helps the closet be even more organized.
