Bedroom Office

Sharing is caring!

We live in a three bedroom house. Our house is fairly small. Don’t get me wrong, it’s the perfect size for our current needs, but small nonetheless.

When we moved in, we knew we had to have some place for a desk. We have a desktop computer, I blog and do photography, my husband occasionally works from home.

We briefly lofted around the idea of the kids sharing a bedroom. But Little Miss was barely 6 months when we moved in here and we really wanted the kids to have more play space.

It seems silly to take up all that space for a desk when it could easily fit in the corner of our room. So that’s where we put it.

The room is pretty large, so having a bedroom office doesn’t feel too cramped. We bought an Ikea desk with drawers to hold any of our supplies. I also have a mail holder on the desk that I keep all important papers in.

I like this desk because it has a back portion that lifts up where you can stash a surge protector. That means no ugly cords all under the desk.

There’s a dresser right next to the desk, I put all our books on that little dresser. It helps the desk to feel less cluttered. Don’t worry, there’s still always papers and books all over my desk, ha!

But at least there’s still somewhere for all that stuff to go when I have to clean up. I found the bulletin board over the desk at HomeGoods. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it.

It makes the space feel a little classy and grown up. I mostly have kids artwork and pictures hanging. Occasionally, I’ll put up an important deadline or reminder, but it’s mostly just decor.

My parents brought me this cute handmade mug back from Magnolia Market and I use that to hold pens.

The chair is from my dining room. I painted it to match this room. We don’t need it at the dining table since we have benches in there now!
