My sister, Sammie, is in love with her Jeep and has been begging me to do photos for a while now. We had envisioned the perfect location- an area with lots of dirt and dust, somewhere out in the country. We looked locally and couldn’t find the perfect location. But we knew this spot out in Arizona where you can go off-roading down by the river bank and we knew it would be the perfect spot for this shoot.Sammie received her Jeep as her 18th birthday present and has been in love with it ever since. She loves to go off-roading and take it muddin’ in Azusa Canyon. She’s normally not one to be all pose-y for photos, but will usually oblige if I ask nicely. But for this shoot, she was over the top excited! She could not wait to start and had tons of ideas, but let me take creative control of the shoot.
Sammie let me pick the time for the shoot, and so I decided we should do golden hour photos, which is about an hour before sunset. The light is perfect around that time, with not too many harsh shadows. I picked a spot on the beach that was sandy, but didn’t have the river in view, we both liked the overgrown foliage in the background better.
I love how much these photos show off her personality. She is a very fun-loving person, with a kind heart, and obviously a love for adventure.
Samantha Price is a fabulous make up artist located in Glendora, CA and the one that I use for my shoots as well. If we have enough interest too, I might be able to get her to do a guest blog on how to do your make up for photo shoots, so be sure to comment if you are interested.
