I’m loving all the animals I’ve been able to photograph recently! They are such a joy to work. It’s so different to take pictures of animals than it is to photograph families. Pets tend to just want to cuddle with you or their owners, or just lie about, there’s really no posing that goes into these photos. I just let the animals do whatever they normally do and wait for the perfect opportunity to take the photo. It’s very similar to lifestyle photography for me. I’m capturing the animal in their natural environment doing whatever they would normally do. And I think these types of photos, just capturing the natural environment, make for the best photographs.
The dog I got to photograph recently is Mollie. She is 14 years old and definitely isn’t as spry as she used to be. She is a mixed breed, but her owner thinks she has some type of corgi in her. She has a torn ACL, so she doesn’t walk well. She also can’t hear the greatest, which made it a little more challenging to get her to look at me. But she loves food! Her owner was in the kitchen and she kept looking that way thinking she was going to get food! Mollie was very interested in me and what I was doing! I think she was a little intimidated by my camera and I don’t think she liked it
at all. She was definitely camera shy 🙂 But I worked with her and was able to get some great photos of her. She has such personality and you can tell that she is the sweetest dog. Here are some of my favorite photos from this session.
I hope you enjoy these photos! If you want to schedule a pet photography session contact me!
