I took one photo every day for a year! I used my iPhone to take all the photos. It’s the camera I have on me all the time, so it just seemed the easiest way to do it. I also wrote a little caption about what we did each day. This was the difficult part. I downloaded an app for my phone, 365 Project, that allowed me to upload the photo for the day and then write a little description. Then once a month, I would upload all the photos to my computer and transfer the description from my phone to the photo on my computer. This was the time-consuming part of the process. And although I love having the descriptions, I have decided not to keep this part if I decide to do this in the future. It was too time-consuming and made the book too long.
One Photo Everyday
There are 7 photos on each page, plus a label for what week it was. Each picture also has the date on it. The first photo on a page is Sunday and the last photo on the page is Saturday, so you can look easily at the week and see a pretty quick overview. The picture isn’t an amazing picture, but they do speak to that day in our lives. I created the book through Lightroom and then ordered it from Blurb. I think the quality of the book is really good. The only reason I went with Blurb was because of the number of pages I needed, the book is 106 pages. But time, since I won’t be doing the descriptions, I’m thinking I’ll order from Shutterfly and do 2 weeks per spread. Hopefully, that will get the book short enough to order through Shutterfly. I think the book through Shutterfly are better for the price, but there is nothing wrong with the book from Blurb.
Overall, I had a lot of fun with this project, and I think I will likely try to do this again in the future. I love having the book to look through, and I’m thinking it will make a great “yearbook” of sorts to look back on every year. There’s just something so cool about having one photo everyday to look back on!
What do you think? Is this something that you could do, or would want to do?
