I’m so excited to share with you these DIY Confetti Popper for 4th of July today! 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays, topped only by Christmas and maybe Halloween. For as long as I can remember, my parents have thrown a big 4th of July pool party. All our friends have come to celebrate and we’ve barbecued hot dogs and hamburgers and swam all day long. The night ends watching fireworks from the front lawn put on by one of the local school, or just watching the numerous illegal fireworks that go off in our area. It’s a day that I look forward to as summer approaches. Now that we’re all getting older and having children of our own, there’s starting to be a younger crowd at these parties. And while I still love the fireworks, it’s nice to have something that’s not quite as dangerous. That’s why I created these DIY confetti poppers. They are fun for kids and adults alike.

How to:
First, you are going to cut all your paper towel rolls in half. Also, cut out the banners, if you are using them.
Then, hot glue your twine onto the back of your banners. Leave enough twine so that the banners will hang out of the DIY confetti poppers once they are popped. I folded over the edge to give it a nice finished look.
Thread the twine through each half of the paper towel roll and tape it to the outside. I found it easier to tape it to the outside, but you could just pull through and secure with the twine at the end. Then loosely roll up the paper and place it in each side of the paper towel roll.
Now take your piece of tissue paper and lay the paper towel roll in the center. Roll the tissue paper around the paper towel roll until you get to the end and secure the edges with a piece of tape.
Twist one side of the tissue paper on the edge of the roll and secure with twine. You’ll now want to add any of your innards as well. I added fake tattoos and some fun 4th of July confetti, but any fun small items will work.
Once all of the goodies are added, twist up the other side and secure with twine. You can cut off some of the excess tissue paper if you want too.
You’re all done! You can also add a cute banner to the front, or use your hot glue gun to affix some of the confetti to liven up the front a little bit. But now you’re all set for your celebration!
If you make these, let me know how it goes! I can’t wait to see these DIY confetti poppers in action on 4th of July this year. Make sure to check out my Instagram story so you can see them too!
