You may be asking yourself, why do I need a professional photographer? I have a camera phone in my pocket and I can take pictures of the every day, so I must not need a professional photographer. And while these things are true, there are a number of reasons why you should hire a professional photographer. Here are the main reasons to hirer a photographer:
Have you ever had someone else take a picture of you with your significant other or your children and you look at the picture and your slouching or your hair is messed up or something just doesn’t look right about the picture? And you can’t really go back and ask this person to take more photos of you so that you can get the perfect one!
This is when having a professional photographer is important. They have taken lots of photos and they know how to pose people so that they look their best in pictures. They are there to be that second eye to say something is in your hair, or to make sure your children aren’t blocking your face or theirs. We will make sure that everyone is looking at the camera and truly try to get the best pose for everyone in your family.
Again, I’m going to go back to a time when you asked someone to take a picture, or maybe you took the picture yourself. In your head, it looks great. You are standing in front of this beautiful brick wall with a gorgeous tree over head and you have the whole family together. One, two, three.. the picture is snapped and everyone was looking! It’s a miracle! You get the photo and there are hot spots of light all over the photo. Little Jimmy’s face is in full sun and you can’t see him at all. You thought it would come out perfect, but you don’t know what to do now, the moment has passed.
I can’t even tell you how many times this has happened in my personal life. My husband and I take a lot of selfies, and anytime we are indoors they always come out so dark. He probably gets annoyed because I won’t press the shutter until the lighting is perfect! A professional photographer is used to seeing the light the way the camera sees the light. They will notice things that might not look right and can move you to a new location that will work better for the photo.
3. High Quality Images
While its not all about the equipment that you use, using a professional camera over a point and shoot or phone can definitely make a difference. For one, you have more control over white balance. Remember those pictures I took of my parents a little while back? Well, I took a couple pictures with my phone too and printed them both out. As you can see there is a big difference in the colors between my phone and camera. These photos were taken within seconds of one another, but the one on the right is much more orange, and there are also some areas that are blown out.
The coloring on the left photos is much better and you can see the people in the photo better as well. The quality of the picture itself is much better. When you choose to hire a professional photographer they will ensure that you can print your photos as large as you want on canvas, photo paper, whatever, and not lose the quality.
4. Pictures of Everyone Together
This one is so hard. My husband and I are always taking selfies, because I love to document life. But there is something that is missing in a selfie and sometimes even people that get missed. You can’t get full bodies and it’s always just a quick snap. When you hire a professional photographer they can get everyone together in the photo.
Finally, memories. I’m all about creating memories for yourself and for generations to come. My mom has this box of old photographs, and I love going through it and seeing my family. Your photo session can be all about creating and preserving those memories. Photos really do speak a thousand words, so let’s get together and create some memories for you!
