I did a model call a little while back, and Robin responded. She told me a little about her family and asked me where I wanted to shoot. I had called for models because I was looking to do something a little bit different. I’m not sure why, but I thought downtown Glendora would be a perfect place to shoot. There are plenty of photo locations and its such a relaxing environment.
Downtown Glendora is my family’s favorite place to walk to so we’re always here. I arrived a little before the session to check out the light in some of the spots I had in mind. When Robin and her family arrived we chatted for a few minutes and then went to find locations. She had wanted a silhouette and I thought the stairwell might work well. While the light wasn’t right for silhouettes, the stairwell ended up being a great location. We were able to get some amazing backlit photos of the family and I thank everyone who went around us while we took up the stairwell for a few minutes!
We walked up Glendora Ave and stopped for a few minutes at the pet shop and then onto the brick wall. This wall is the perfect backdrop for photos and I want one it my backyard! Robin takes photos of her girls every year in their backyard with this little rocking chair. She’s had it since the girls were babies and she asked me to include it in the shoot. I said of course!
She also brought some balloons that had an important meaning to their family. We decided to take some pictures with the balloons while walking and sitting on a bench. I love that you can see those iconic gumdrop trees in these photos.
Overall this shoot was so much fun! Robin, her husband, and her two girls were a blast to take pictures of. They were laughing and having fun; and her husband pointed out some great photo spots. Definitely will have to add downtown Glendora to my normal location recommendations!
